The Karl VR Glasses were created by the fashion brand Karl Michael, and that's a plus: the headset is basic, yes, but stylish and functional, as it can be easily folded for transportation, requiring no more space than an ordinary wallet. Far from the most immersive product on the list, Karl's Glasses do make for the perfect budget option for watching and playing VR content on the phone.
As a more private affair, VR porn is not the type of content you'd watch while commuting or waiting for the doctor, but it gives you a taste of what a VR porn experience feels like for a little over $100. Considering the Glasses' resolution, audio, and refresh rate depend on the phone, just don't expect that experience to be fully immersive…
Despite its shortcomings, though, the Karl VR Glasses are nothing like 'old-school' budget headsets for phones, like the Google Cardboard (which some people thought to be a joke). The Glasses are a product made of durable and quality materials that, despite not excelling technically, look like a cool object many people would love to have.

Best VR headset for mobile users, doubles as a cool-looking fashion item
VR headsets for phones have been relatively forgotten since the early 2020s, back when Google Cardboard and the now-discontinued Samsung Gear VR headsets made the rounds. So, we decided to take a look at an unusual place: the Karl Michael fashion brand.
And guess what? The unassuming Karl VR Glasses may well be one of the best VR headsets for mobile!

The Karl VR Glasses are sold by the fashion brand Karl Michael.

The Karl VR Glasses fit surprisingly comfortably!
Remember: the Karl VR Glasses are about convenience, style, and fun VR experiences on mobile, not about making a big technological statement. This is what we learned from our testing:
The resolution and refresh rate of the Karl VR Glasses are the same as your smartphone. The field of view goes up to 100°, which is more than enough for mobile streams.
This is where the Karl VR Glasses shine most, especially given the price tag. Created by Karl Michael, the VR headset is comfy despite having few customization options (not surprising to see a fashion brand nail the product's fit).
But hey, let's not forget that the Karl VR Glasses were created for VR experiences on the run and via smartphone! We don't recommend using the glasses for prolonged VR sessions.
The Karl VR Glasses are well built and have an elegant design. If you open the glasses, you can find some contact info (customer support) to reach out to in case you have any issue.
Far from a standalone headset, the Karl VR Glasses use the processing power of your smartphone. Typical pro-level headset features (passthrough, built-in spatial audio, etc.) are not included.
We wanted to make sure we had at least one VR headset for mobile in our list of the best VR headsets, and now that the Gear VR is no longer around, the Karl VR Glasses may well be it!
If portability is not your priority, however, we recommend the PVR Iris Standalone instead; it wasn't made for phones, but it can actually offer you an authentic VR viewing experience despite only costing approximately $50 more than the Karl VR Glasses.
